Sky Broadband Superfast question

[link to this post]

Hi all,

Is the Sky Broadband Superfast package based on BTWholesale or does it use Sky's own equipment located in the BT telephone exchange (LLU type thing)?

TIA!

It uses the Openreach VDSL2 hardware in the street cabinets and at the exchanges Sky pickup the data onto their LLU network

Thanks MrSaffron!

1) Is the concept of a IP Profile used seeing as Sky is using their own equipment?

2) If I moved to Sky and then wanted to move back to a non LLU ISP would it be easy to keep the same landline number? (I remember years ago this used to be an issue)

TIA

Protocol overheads still exist, IP profile is fully dynamic on the BT Wholesale system so are very close to the overheads. Hence why Sky is no different performance wise.

So long as the operator is willing to take the order moving the phone number around should be no issue.
