Is pricing tactic a scam at SKY?

[link to this post]

New price-hike of 10% last month at SKY (also went up last year more than RPI).

I was an O2 customer but sold off to SKY for basic ADSL. I had a short term special price at the time I think.

Sky later called it Broadband + Talk - but I've never had Talk or asked for it.

Here's my latest bill which shows two penalties ("supplements"):

Supplement for not having Sky TV £2.50 (although it's not in the service "BB+Talk")
Supplement for not having Talk £5.00 (even though it is in the service "BB+Talk")
Broadband unlimited £14.01 (including new price-hike (no reason given)
Total £21.51 i.e. just for B-band-unlimited as with O2

Why is NO TV extra but not in package anyway?
Why is Talk extra for not using it in BB+Talk?

Do all ISPs do this I wonder? Is it spite because I pay BT separately for their copper wire connection? And what's with the charge for no 'TV'

No I'm not calling SKY customer robotic services....

Sky ADSL2+ with telephone line rental is usually on offer for new customers for £20/m and out of contract price is £30/m

No surcharges for not having TV, but you have to take the voice line from Sky.

You are on an old legacy package with old school supplements.

Why No TV supplement, because they want to encourage you onto a bundle

Paying BT for the phone line seperately means probably paying £19.99/m for that, so your total bill at around £40/m is pretty high compared to what it could be

Sky is a LLU operator and wants people to use its phone service for the incremental revenue from calls or subscribe to its TV service.

Left Sky within contract when they weren't hitting my guaranteed minimum. They had then increased my broadband and line rental costs from £27 to £29.

I am also now considering moving my TV services as that cost went up to!

This seems very typical of Sky. Happened with me also when I was with them. My price per month would seemingly magically go up and would only go back down when I called them to complain that I am paying way more than I should be. So I left them and now I only look at providers that provide fixed price contracts. TalkTalk and Zen are good examples.
