I see ISP review have leaked news Sky are looking at releasing 500Mbps Openreach FTTP shortly.

Do Sky usually do a pilot / trial for these? If so any idea how you join?

They often do trials yes.

Sky trials are often run by their staff.
I have relatives who work in their Livingstone offices and they were trialling FTTP before it launched.

Any trials involving customers are always done via existing customers and usually by invitation.

They may have soft launched it so you may find some of the contact centre agents are able to offer the product. That’s how I managed to get their original FTTC offering when I heard whispers they were going to launch 40/2. Phoned up a few times and eventually got an agent who could place an order for me.

I've just spoken with the call centre about moving mid contract from ADSL2 to full fibre, the chap on the phone offered me ultrafast at £40/month, whereas the website is offering me ultrafast plus @ £45/month - he was adamant that ultrafast was the fastest available!

Just phone up and speak to someone else, hopefully they know what they are talking about.
