Sky Ultrafast FTTC

[link to this post]

I am about to order Sky Ultrafast - current connection is FTTC and I get around 71mbs (with Plusnet).

As I went through the order process, I was asked to select an engineer visit data - which surprised me! Searching around, it seems a new faceplate is required, I think it means for a G.Fast connection (NTE 5C?)?

Will changing the master socket prevent me from moving back to standard FTTC broadband and telephone in future, where I connect the router and phones to that master socket?

Thanks

Nope. It's just a different faceplate on the master socket with the word G.Fast on the front. It works the exact same on VDSL2 (FTTC).

If you have the older square master socket NTE5A then this will be changed to a 5C.

Right, that seems simple enough!
Thanks
