Have pre-paid Line Rental Saver from plusnet - transfer in?

Hi all,

I'm with Plusnet at the moment, but I'm thinking of switching to Zen. However, I've pre-paid my annual Line Rental Saver only a few months ago, so if I transfer now would I lose that?

I think you may be asking in the wrong forum . It's nothing to do with Zen.

I was hoping it might transfer in... or something. I rather suspect Plusnet are unlikely to refund.

... okay, checked the (Line-Rental-Saver) confirmation email and it says: "If you cancel after 14 days, Line Rental Saver is non-refundable.", so that's annoying.

I don't think that's the relevant bit.

You need to find the price list, which I used to know how to, and that gives the prices for early leaving for each product. IIRC they used not to refund any part of LRS if you migrated your broadband, but Ofcom told them off, and just like early termination on broadband and normal line rental they can only not refund amounts they still have to pay out.

This should give you the way out to leave PN and claim back the LRS.

Wait to be formally notified by PN (via an email).
Then ring PN Customer options team, tell then you are intending to leave due to the price increases and ask for all leaving charges to waived and the balance of LRS to refunded upon leaving. Ask the PN rep to raise a ticket on your account showing what has been agreed.

Sign up to Zen
After you have transferred to Zen, ring PN and ask them to honour the agreement.

Most Plusnet customers who are in a contract are on a fixed price plan and won't see any price rises till after their contract expires.

There won't be any 30 day window to leave contract penalty free if the price doesn't go up.

I might wait and see for a little bit then... but Zen are on my list when I can move!
