Zen via CityFibre is £34 for everyone?

My Zen contract ends (after 18 months) in a few weeks. I'm paying £40/month for a CityFIbre 1GB aka 900 connection. I can keep this or re-contract at £34/month on a new 24 month contract.

Is this price offered to everyone (ends 31/08!) or am I being targeted to prevent me moving.

Due to the IP changes (see other threads) I'm minded to move, perhaps to Aquis. They offer £20 for six months then £40. Over 24 months there's not a lot in it but its only a 12 month contract.

On the other hand I need to change my IP address before my contract is up, can I be arsed to have to do it again...

The only issue going to Aquiss is you will benefit from the initial 6 months discount but once thats over you will be paying a heavier price for a far longer time if you don't switch again.

Has anything changed in your area since you first contracted with Zen, such as availability of new providers?

In March of this year, my 300MB with Zen via CityFibre at £32/month was due to come to an end.

Zen no longer offered 300MB, but without any prompting from me immediately offered 500MB for £30/month - which I accepted.

I put this "more speed for less money" down to two things:
1.) They wouldn't have to pay CityFibre's FTTP installation fee this time.
2.) During my first Zen 18 month contract, Openreach FTTP became available to me - so more options of ISP to choose from if I was thinking of moving.

I could always downgrade from 1 gig to 500 mb. But they're offering me that for £34. Obviously I wouldn't do that but wonder what you'll be offered when your contract is up.

And also interesting, the 18 month contract we both had is now 24 months.

Nothing has changed here since I insisted on trasferring from OR to CF when it became available. But that's another story...

It is rumoured that if you stay with them for 3 years, you can then re-contract with the initial discount again. I'm not quite at 3 years, but I should be able to find out soon

I do believe that is true from what Martin told me although I don't know anyone who has.
