New installation prices

In reply to:

We have this evening increased installation prices for new orders (migration and new supply) for broadband slightly.

Why? The short answer is to manage customer growth and maintain customer levels. This is a short term measure. The long answer is more complex and involves BT Central circuits and new gigabit BT links available Feb/Apr next year and 21st Century network changes. We plan to be offering new ADSL2 24Mb/s links, lower prices and a wider range of services at better value during next year.

We are more concerned with ensuring we maintain the level of performance and service for our existing customers, at the cost of ongoing revenue, than increasing numbers of customers. We pride ourselves in the level of performance that we offer customers and would not wish to compromise this by reaching capacity on any of the links we have. We have seen what happens when one of the circuits to BT fails only yesterday and the impact that has on service, so want to pre-empt any significant service issues before they happen.

We hope our existing customers appreciate the lengths we will go to in order to ensure the best quality or service for our broadband customers.

All very nice.

(Let's hope BT deliver the new services on time...)
