BE lines

This sounds interesting but I want to check my understanding. Just to confirm - anyone taking this up would pay for the tariff plus an extra £23 a month for receiving the service over a BE circuit?

Also, what happens to my existing BT voice service if anything?

It doesn't affect the voice service.

Basically the basic cost to A&A is higher but the bandwidth is much cheaper, and that's reflected in the price (bearing in mind this is a trial and is likely to change in the future). You get 10* the allowance (so the cheapest package gives 10gb peak) for an extra £23/mo... plus of course Annex M, SRA, no DLM, and no BT.

I don't understand the 80% coverage of the population aspect ..

Using my exchange as an example, its just a Market1 so I assume this new deal with Be will not be of any use to folk like me, are we on these small exchanges still stuck with BT ?

80% of the population is easy.. about that many live in cities. It's way less than 80% by area.

You can check on samknows whether your exchange is (or is likely to be) supplied by Be.

interesting aaisp have SRA enabled on BE.

shame aaisp chose BE over easynet tho since my exchange has no BE presence.

Just a heads up on Annex M

If you have a downstream attenuation of >= 35db, your line will not be suitable for Annex M with a few very rare exceptions with very noise free lines

Hmm.. that's a shame - mine is 41db.

Alas, Be have changed their minds and said they can't do SRA after all.
