Slow Download

Just went active with AAISP today @ 5.00pm, but am getting slow download rates, I am syncing @ 3616 kbps (Line Attenutaion - 53db) with an IP Profile of 3000Kbps (as shown by BT Speedtester), however, when downloading a 1GB test file (from thinkbroadband) it has settled @ 120-122 KB/sec, generally this IP Profile would have given me 350KB/sec...

Any suggestions where the problem lies?

Can you get faster speeds from thinkbroadband at other times of the day?

Do the CQM graphs show any problems? Other computers using a shared connection while you're testing?

I am on 20CN RAS - ERX5-Edinburgh, the link appears to deal with 21CN issues, or am I reading that wrong?

I download a 100MB file from the Zen test Files sit and I got a settled download of 100-102KB/sec

Yes, generally 2.8Mbps on their speedtest, getting 1.3mbps at the moment.

Do the CQM graphs show any problems?

I am assuming these are the graphs in my account area on the AAISP website, if so there appears to be no problem, I also ran the KDB Test earlier and it reported everything as fine.

No other computers on my network are on the internet at the moment.

EDIT: 10.40pm: Just downloaded a 50MB test file and I got a settled download speed of around 330KB/sec which is around "normal"..so will keep an eye on it over the weekend and see how it pans out...

Unfortunately, if it turns out to be the exchange, even AAisp will have trouble getting BT to shift on it. The threshold is 600kb. They'll certainly prod them though.

as I understand it the green status is for the VP but the backhaul from the exchange can still be congested.

It sounds like exchange congestion... Might be worth emailing AAISP with what you know, given that they're not reporting the exchange as congested.

I will see how it goes between 6pm-10pm this evening.
