I moved to ADSL2 with AA last October (previously on ADSL1 with Newnet).
I live very close to the exchange. I would guess in the hundreds of meters range - the line goes out the kitchen wall and I can walk it to the exchange.
I had always syched at 8mbit on ADSL1 and had assumed I'd see a high sync speed on ADSL2.
Just what is considered high / what should I expect?
From the control panel I see I'm currently synced at 14752K / adsl13000 /13000K.
Speedtest.net show 13Mb/1Mb up/down.
TBH I'm perfectly happy with the speed though I did expect it to be higher.
My router currently shows:

I'm a bit more bothered about the line reliability.
Prior to switching to AA last year I've not actually had an always-on router here, so have no comparison for this address. However, a few years ago at a different address I had an ADSL1 always-on line.
From memory, the old ADSL1 line stayed up for weeks if not months at a time.
My current line is lucky to see a few days before the router reports a ping fail and drops/reconnects.
What should I be expecting with ADSL2 (am I mis-remembering ADSL1)?
BTW, I guess it may be pertinent - I'd consider the internal line between the BT master socket and the router to be a bit ropey. It's the standard BT round cable, however it's snakes round the wood work quite a long way (I'd guess 10-15m). I currently redocorating and may replace this cable in the process, as it has no need to be as long as it currently is.
