Ultimately you get to chose what you are willing to pay for. If you want top notch customer service etc that costs money, so you need to decide if it's important enough for you to pay extra to get that sort of thing.

A&A aren't a mass market ISP selling data as cheaply as possible to as many customers as possible, they are a niche company selling premium services to people who are willing to pay more in return for more responsive and proactive support (amongst other things)

I'm sorry but for the average person, there is no way in hell they would pay £70 for broadband, even with AAISP's support, which you wouldn't need most of the time anyway.

What on Earth makes you think A&A are selling products intended for the average user ?
A&A clearly have a market, they've been in business for longer than many many other ISP and what they've sold during the 10+ years I've been with them really hasn't changed very much.

But it's not a mass market product and it sounds like it's not what you are looking for, but you are seeing with your difficulties getting your line fixed one of the consequences of cheap broadband, something that some people are willing to pay to avoid.

For the cost of AAISP I could pay for a new line, put fibre on it and it would still be cheaper than AAISP.

Besides, I cannot physically go with AAISP as they do not support landlines.

So I guess you shouldn't sign up with A&A then.

I do wonder why they're going to bring out new packages if they are like you say, "doing just fine".

I don't know, maybe they've spotted a new service provider they can use to expand their product range ?
Or maybe they have found a way to offer the same service at a cheaper price ? Nothing wrong with lowering prices as long as it doesn't compromise the service.

I think its great the way they offer data only line rental at a reasonable pricepoint.

then clearly you not prepared to pay a premium then.

I remember I used to pay aaisp just under £30 a month for under 10 gig of peak time traffic per month on adsl max.

The reason I left wasnt due to the price, but at the time they seemed to have too many outages at weekends and nights, I have no issue with their packages.

Thought I'd bump this up... any news yet?
