Ultimately you get to chose what you are willing to pay for. If you want top notch customer service etc that costs money, so you need to decide if it's important enough for you to pay extra to get that sort of thing.
A&A aren't a mass market ISP selling data as cheaply as possible to as many customers as possible, they are a niche company selling premium services to people who are willing to pay more in return for more responsive and proactive support (amongst other things)
The wages of sin are death, but the hours are good and the perks are fantastic
