It appears BT FTTC customers have a frequent spike as shown in the BQM. I was wondering if the same spike is visible in A&A customers using TT backhaul.

OK on my TT line

I'm not seeing regular spikes like yours.

But certainly not as 'clean' as my line was with Zen

Happening on mine, on BTW.
It's quite common, on ADSLx as well. I often had spells of it on Plusnet and IDNet. Lots of people have reported it on several ISPs, but as far as I know it has never caused any real life problems to anyone.
For me it started here.

I was interested to know if it was limited to BT backhaul only.

Although on first inspection, it looks like Zen is the better connection Id however say that AAISP is the better connection, as it has less packet loss. Even a small amount of packet loss can impact throughput

My Zen connection on BTW back haul has the regular latency spikes.

If any AA customers are seeing these spikes then do contact support.

Am I to assume you're not happy with these spikes?

Spikes like this are unusual and do warrant further investigation.

Seeing stuff like this makes me only re affirm how much I need you as my ISP on my second line

I'm considering migrating to A&A in the not to distant future. It would be interesting to know the outcome of any investigations.

I've been chatting over the past few weeks on the IRC and it's been an overall brilliant experience.

I have the spikes since moving to AAISP Home::1T FTTC as well about every 2 hours.

Have you contacted our support team about it? (Do reference this forum post to help things along)

Are you on the BT or TT backhaul?

Home::1 Terabyte is always on TT. The units package i was on before was on BT with no problems.

Thank you. That rules out my just BT theory.

thought I would chime in here, it is a totally weird behaviour but it also does happen on sky and it also used to happen for me on plusnet. To make it even more weird I found it disappears when I have codel QoS active on my router. I am not a current aaisp customer, but posted this to assist in diagnostics.

Interestingly it's not as pronounced on your IPv6.

a thoery that all isps get it because we all been routed through GCHQ who have latency spikes on some tasks
