Hi,
I've just run a semi regular speedtest using the TBB speedtest and although my HTTPx6 downstream speed was 54Mb/s odd, the HTTPx1 speedtest only hit 25Mb/s odd. Could anyone explain why this should be? And what impact it could have?
I should point out, this is the second test I've performed since being with AA, with very similar results.

Was that using a wired or wireless connection?
This is my latest test - I've not seen such a difference.

...Also try our tester - http://speedtest2.aa.net.uk preferably with a wired connection in to the router directly.
Our support staff can take a look at your line graph etc and see if shows an obvious problem and can help further.

Andrew,
Is your test single or multi-threaded?

Looks multi-threaded to me.

That's what I thought which is why it puzzled me that Andrew suggested running their multi-threaded test when the OP was complaining about degraded singled threaded speeds!

It'll always be wired.
These are the two results referenced:
https://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/15409212004...
https://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/15386671557...
As you can see, pretty consistent.
@andrewhearn - I'll run one of the AA tests this evening. Although, as mentioned. if it's a multi thread test, is it pertinent?

This is mine a couple of minutes ago. Although not as fast as I used to be, both single and multi are the same.

[edit: guess what I forgot!]
My connection between pc and modem/router is wired (also through a switch).
Cheers!

Did you contact support? (I can't find a ticket) - but if you can then we can look in more detail - I can set up an iperf server for you to test against and we'll see if others can to similar tests to compare and to see if there is a wider issue here (which is plausible).

Thanks Andrew.
I didn't raise a call yet as wanted to see if anyone had seen a similar issue and had information around it.
I'll raise a ticket now.
