Am live now. Bit of a mix up with the CBT (flashing PON light and no connection) but network sorted it and OR engineer is away now.

There was initially a flashing PON light on the ONT due to an issue with the underground connectorised block terminal (CBT) ?

Yes my line wasn't tagged so engineer had to plug into a CBT up the street and network had to reset the ONT. All working now.

Good thing you didn't have this problem https://community.plus.net/t5/Full-Fibre/ONT-PON-lig... where the active copper lines were removed!

He did! He was putting in the trunking for the fibre and disconnected the copper, thought it was a straight swap. I asked him to put it back and he did. Just as well I stepped out to inspect the trunking. He did the inside work first.

Yes he asked me twice to check. Just as well I mentioned it or would have no copper.

Your opening post on 27-08-25: "I have joined tonight with an order for full fibre on a 1 month contract. Ordering was simple but comprehensive. I chose the new installation without affecting my current service (VDSL/Phone)..." !!!

Your saga for getting FTTP installed certainly highlights it's potential difficulties - are you sure that you want to venture into the world of VoIP?

Wont have any choice come Jan 2027 and lots of relatives still call my landline number instead of mobile. After Oct 23rd this year is is £125 to cancel the landline service which is cheaper than paying another year at £38.60 (which goes up in March). VOIP with A&A is £1.44 a month and £12 to port in a number. Then if I get rid of landline and switch fibre to Plusnet currently £34 a month with £140 reward card for 900 speed that should pay off the TTB cutoff fee. I am only on a month contract with A&A so hopefully with landline gone should be a digitial switch.

I would think so as BT are selling off exchanges and TTB have equipment in them.
