Alternative to Quality Monitor

I have a dynamic connection and wonder if there is an alternative to Quality Monitor, which works only with a static connection.
I have tried RouterStats which is a great application but does not work with my new BT Homehub 3 router.

HomeHub3 does not respond to ICMP echo from the Internet anyway

I am no expert in these matters, but my router works for ping and tracert. Doesn't that show it responds to ICMP echo?

Outbound yes fine, but inbound the HomeHub 3 does not respond to pings

One way around this is to connect a device that does respond to pings, to the HH3 and put it in the DMZ.

Seems there is the only way to continuously monitor the line speed would be to get a router that is compatible with routerstats.
