Hi basically bqm has been fine for nearly 2 months then powercut happened and now graph is as above high latency at all times even overnight when everybody asleep and no devices connected, ive done a factory reset of superhub 2ac and made no difference? Can anybody tell me if I have a problem and if so would it be a faulty hub, or network fault? Etc

Oh the solid red lines were when I rebooted hub to see if made a difference and the large red line was when I factory reset hub which made no difference, anyhelp be nice thanks..

If you run a command line ping command for a while do you see similar problems if not then it may just be the superhub software that is the issue

Hi mrsaffron thanks for replying, do u mean if I do a ping manually using the command prompt on pc? If so I could try that which site should I ping? Should I ping this site? If so do I need ip address of this site? If so can u tell what it is? And how long should ping it for? 10mins, half an hour etc?
So are u saying if I dont get packet loss or high pings when I manually ping this/another site then it could nr software in superhib, if that is the case should I ask for a new hub as I did a factory reset and it made no difference...also I see packet loss on bqm, whst causes that?

ping -n 100 www.thinkbroadband.com
Superhub is known for adding a bit more false jitter than on top of that due to DOCSIS , i.e. its not faulty hardware just the way they've put it all together

My Broadband Ping
Thanks I try that but what I can't understand is that 4 days ago my bqm was fine? When powercut happened then it went bad,

Hi on a wired connection, I pinged thinkbroadband 200 times, results were minimum 10ms, worst 443 ms ,aversge 20ms? So what does that mean?
Suggests that connection is behaving as the BQM from 27th September is showing.

Hi thanks for replying, thats my point for 2 months the bqm was fine but then after powercut and hub rebooted the bqm is really bad now but I dont know why?, im going to put hub in modem mode and make a new graph and see if its the same.

Mr saffron can I ask which in your experiance is better for latency bt infinity or sky fibre? Also is it true u can't set up a bqm on bt infinity?
Home Hubs cannot be set to respond to pings, but if you use your own hardware it is possible.
Latency wise, was with Sky VDSL2, flipped to Infinity 1 on the TV/gaming connection and not noticed any difference. But local variations are possible due to which is or is not the most popular locally.

Ok thanks, I need some help I set superhub 2ac to modem mode which gave me a different ip address I went here set up a new bqm but it just shows a solid redline like it isnt receiving pings? In router mode it is set to receive pings but in modem mode I cannot access the settings where the ping option is?
In modem mode the option will be in the new device that is behaving as the router.

Thanks, I have a laptop comnected to the modem, will that not work? Do I have to have another router comnected to it for the monitor to work?
A laptop connected directly MUST have a software firewall otherwise hacking risk is very high. Likely the software firewall is blocking ICMP echo/ping requests.

Ok thanks is there anyway to disable the firewall? Or is it the anti virus thats blocking the pings? How do I do it? Any help be appreciated thanks.

Do I turn off windows firewall?
All depends on what software is installed and for a direct PC connection I'm not happy remotely suggesting turn off a firewall or settings to fiddle with, since an un protected PC might pick up something untoward within seconds.

My Broadband Ping
i I managed to get the bqm to work in modem mode in the end, I only did it for a few hours but it seems fine in modem mode, low latency no packet loss, so cannot explain why in router mode its so bad? Somebody on virgin forums said I might be being ddosed? Is that possible looking at my router mode bqm and if I was how would I know? Anyway above link is modem mode graph (only a few hours mind).

Damn I deleted modem mode graph, what an idiot I am, I saved image of it on my tablet how do I post it?
