QM spikes AND high ping when downloading

Hi,

In the last few weeks I've had an issue with high pings while downloads are occuring on the network (for example netflix streaming). Now previously while these activities were happening I never used to get latency issues while gaming until now. So I'm guessing something must have change.

To me these QM results don't look normal. I remember setting one up years ago and it was flat all day.

What are your thoughts?

The BQM is showing what you are describing

Have line speeds, broadband hardware changed since the days when you used to be able to stream netflix and game without problem

e.g. maybe Netflix is at a higher bit rate of perhaps 8 Mbps and if connection is only marginally faster you will see latency vary. Also some different routers handle traffic better than others, i.e. buffer bloat
