Is BQM working OK?

[link to this post]

Hi all,

I've done nothing to make this happen and neither has my ISP, but for over 24 hours I've only had small dots of red, and I am used to large red rectangles and stripes of top to bottom red spikes in between.

Now it's dawned on me, that the BQM might not be working right. <shrug>

If it is true and I have a proper ADSL service, then that definitely feels a bit spooky.

Not seen anything like it since maybe December last year and even then it was not this well behaved.

I'm worried.

Anyone else seeing better results than they are used to?

Cheers

It might be an idea to post the "Live" BQM link, rather than try to describe it smile.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Three 4G, tbb tests normally 35-45Mpbs down, 65Mbps off-peak, 9-24 up.

So it seems. Baffled by the whole thing though.

With the little data you have shared impossible to say anything else.

Your link just gives us the login screen. If we fill that in, we of course go to our own account.

If you go to where it shows your BQM setup/edit and click the Show detailed list just below it, you get to see what your graph is showing. Immediately under that is a line of options, including "Share live graph". Click that then give us the "Direct link".

That does keep updating, but is usually the best for us. Occasionally a "Snapshot" one is useful. Another option is to go to the "Show previous days", which lets you pick up the link to a full 24 hours that doesn't update.

And for the interpretation some questions....

Between 5pm and 8pm were you streaming, downloading or uploading something? On ADSL the jump in yellow is normal for when you are using the connection. Notice you during the night time hours 1am to 6am that the graph is a lot cleaner - suggesting nothing is seriously wrong.

Thatís better smile.

As MrSaffron says, nothing abnormal there at the moment. When you get a fair amount of red, a snapshot one is then useful.

Yes, indeed, watching a pod cast on youtube. Not been possible in some months, maybe even years.

I've never seen adsl mend itself like this one seemed to on Sunday morning.

I know I did nothing, and I know the ISP said they could do nothing.

I'm just so happy it seems to work right now. It may last, but who knows.

If I knew who or what to thank then I would. For now it's simply unknowable.

This is taking some getting used to.

I went back a few days, and this is how it was the day before it got fixed. It was this day that I was asking the ISP to fix, and that's when they said they could not. <grim>

how poor things were

Quite a bit of red, as I said earlier. <sigh>
