It should be just your first router after the modem, which without knowing what your setup is may be in the same box.
Only on IPv6 should a device be pinged, and that would only be the one you were using when you set up the BQM. With a high probability that address changed soon after anyway.
Edit: I should have pointed out that on IPv6 you need to establish the (hopefully static) router address.
