Lost packets after Fritzbox 7530 update

[link to this post]

Hi,
LAst week mr Fritzbox updated from Fritzbos 7.49 to 7.50. The BQM now shows bursts of dropped packets, even when lightly loaded..

7.49:

7.50

Have tried the usual reboots etc.

I saw a similar pattern several months ago when I tried an early beta of 7.50. After a couple of days my connection dropped from 19M to 4M so I reverted to 7.49 and it took several weeks for my speed to recover.

Any suggestions what the problem is or should I take it up with AVM.

If it was me, just to add to your 'evidence' before contacting AVM, I would roll back to the previous version. I don't have mine connected at the moment but I'm fairly sure I've seen the option to do so in the interface when I was using it.

p.s. If things go wrong, there is a recovery app available on AVM's site.

Are you sure it's not Zen's network or line conditions? e.g. I have this graph from the 4th, before the update (I was automatically updated too) showing similar behaviour:

And live today (no ping loss):

After a couple of days line seems to have re synced at a slightly slower speed and pings back to normal. I notice in my speed test results.my ip is listed in ip6 format since the update in os. Not sure if this is related to the os update or other cause.

I've noticed that since my router updated it too is showing lots of spikes in latency and packet loss on the BQM. Also according to my munin monitoring the fritzbox average cpu usage has jumped by 50% since the update (only from 2% to 3% so not exactly critical.

I have now set up an additional monitor using IPv6 through to my home server which is not showing any packet loss, and much lower spikes in latency so it suggests the problem is with the fritzbox dropping requests rather than any real problem with the connection..
