I wish BT would sort this bras profile thing out

[link to this post]

Currently have a fault on my line that every so often it kicks the modem off and it drops to
60kbps connection rating which then kicks the bras profile to do this

http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/3167/11xz2.jpg

With a quick reboot of the router and the connection rating is back upto 4128kbps
but because of the stupid bras profile, it takes like 3 days before the bras is corrected
to the sync rate. Two days of 400k/s then 3days of 38k/s or even 16k/s because of the bras BT needs this bras thing to detect a better speed within a few hrs not upto 3days!

Im currently dealing with bt wholesale to find out if its the master socket or the line thats causing the intermitent fault.

These are all my dates that my connection rating has stone dived
and bras profile kicked in to give me 16-30k/s that i can remember.

to be honest I think your only option is to get BT to put you back on the fixed rate product...

If it's any consolation which I doubt, I had exactly the same problems on "upgrade." BT changed the master socket for an ADSL master socket, once this was done with the other filters removed and the router plugged into the master socket, after 3 days everything sorted itself out and has remained Ok since (touch wood.) . Yet using a USB modem on the 1 Meg service beforehand had been fine.

Master socket is an adsl, phone plate... bt told me to take the front off and have a look
seems ok to me, but alas this is a total of 8 days now 29kb/s. So so bad, i could go back to 1mbit i but the fault on the line will remain. Its that which needs looking into, i want my 400kb/s back waaa lol

Thankfully after almost 7 years with BT...

IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON!!!... (A new BT moto)

Email is cooked, conflict with DEAMON@YAHOO plus hacker alert with BARKLAY fake identification (even thought i dont have a barklay card heheheheheeee).

Seriously i'm beginning to recognized BT.

Well I would say perservere with BT as any ISP unless NOT using BT IPStream to provided BB will have same problems if relying on BT !!

Gotta admit my speed issues are sorted to my satsifaction now at least taken me a while !!
Yes if an evening I get 1 or 2 disconnections BUT they are when we are NOT using either PC and are actually down to contention issues rather than anything else !!

I filled feedback in last weekend (sat am) got a call back within hrs and by monday he had (I believe) manually raised my BRAS profile (which I think given my max speedtest results is 6meg I think) !!

Speed test results:
- Download speed : 5789 kbit/s or 724 kbyte/s
- Upload speed : 373 kbit/s or 47 kbyte/s

By way BT are not even relying on THEIR own speedtest anymore BUT using the following one now as it is more reliable according to the UK tech who called me after I filled feedback form in http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/

Would it be possible for him to manually raise my bras profile? im syncing at 3mbit and above
and im ONLY getting under 1mbit for the last two weeks, it needs to be bras to atleast 2.8
which is what it was before.

Before - 300-400kb/s
Last two weeks - 90-100kb/s
