Should I move or not? Some questions.....

[link to this post]

I have placed an order to move from Plus.Net to BT Broadband Option 3 but I am having 2nd thoughts after reading things on here!

- Is the router that bad? I am using a Netgear DG834G at the moment. Anyone else moved from the Netgear to the BT Router

- Will I get my free DECT phone? Some people here are saying BT have not / wont send them?

- If the service is awful can I cancel within the first 7 days or am I stuck with awful service for 12 months?

- What 'advaced' features are on the BT router?

- Also, what is this software I need to install on my PC to get the BT router up and running? Can't I just plug it into my network card?

Thanks.

BT have 10 times more customers than Plusnet. Check the isp forums and isp unhappiness forum for post counts.

I've run the hub, the voyager 220v and 2100 without any BT Yahoo software.

I've found BT to be very reliable, have the best pings to gameservers and the clear usage allowances are the exact opposite to Plusnet.

If you are a new customer you get the hub and the phone. Check this out - BT are actually giving away free hubs to existing customers, find me another isp that is giving kit away to existing customers!

Hub is very cheap I could go on all day about it just read my thread about it, but really Bt broadband has been good apart from tonight when I have been all but abandoned by BT, they wont do anything I cannot phone them!

But it is usually not a bad service. All ISP's have problems, and being an ex PN customer I know what you are feeling.

I say go for it, but compare the hub to your current equipment and post in my thread, I am working with Bt to get the problems sorted out.
