Specific packetloss attributed to Home Hub

[link to this post]

Having received my Home Hub on 20th July I was pleased to have a replacement for my aging BT Voyager 205. After setting everything up I was able to view various websites and listen to online radio stations without any trouble then I started getting very bad packetloss when gaming and on a whim I went back to aging 205 to see if Home Hub was the problem which it was.

My problem started when trying to play Lineage II an MMORPG, I was getting very dire performance, very eratic packetloss (used pingplotter to measure) mostly 100% packet loss on 217.41.174.* BT internal IP's and also 60%+ packetloss to destination. Is it possible for a brand new Home Hub to cause such problems, would it be a problem with my settings when installing (I did disable Wireless).

Hopefully it can be attributed to user and not hardware. Thankful for any advice or help.

That would explain the extra latency while I play games with the home hub! When I connected up my linksys it went down by at least 10ms!!

If you have not changed anything and it is still doing the same in 6 hours time it looks like the home hub by the sounds of things, disabling the wireless would not affect it at all. If so I would give BT a phone and ask for a new one as it would appear faulty.
