Thfc thats exactly the same bull [censored] that they pulled on me saying it was working fine nothing they could do my threshold being 1.15mbps... It was doing that upto the phone pole but to my house it was only going 512kbps which was even worse, bt are just fobbing you off because they cant be arsed to put the effort in to fix it.

Thanks BloodUK, and what you're saying does make sense in a crazy sort of way! I might leave it for a week and then get back onto support again and see if I can persuade them to reset the BRAS profile. As far as I can see a stuck BRAS profile might be causing the problems.

I haven't messed about with the DMT tool much as I haven't really got a clue how to use it. How might I use it to force a better (or worse!) sync rate? Can it be used to turn interleaving off or can only BT alter that from their end?

Thanks for the advice and good luck with getting your line finally fixed!

just had the callback now....didnt take long did it lol, anyway this guy knows what a BRAS profile is which is a start, he now put me on hold to check with his colleagues on how to progress, i.e contact wholesale.....

Well it seems like bt dont see your problem as a problem worthy of higher support so you get dumped with india..

Time for complaints perhaps? might get a result

last time i made a complaint, i got a girl called ankita call me, very good dont get me wrong, but she turned into my stalker, and i did get a replacement home hub, and she told me to keep my old one haha!! but as soon as i mentioned speeds she said that the throughput for my line was sufficient

Thanks for that. I'll have a good read of that and see if I can digest all of the info before tweaking. One last thing-you don't know of a website or a software tool that can suggest the perfect settings for a DSL line based on the distance from the exchange do you? It would be nice to have a tool that could give you suggestions.
