BT Business Broadband Opinions?

[link to this post]

Hi, I need to change isp's after my current one decide to whack the prices up to a silly amount for limited packages and am thinking of BT Business.

Just wondering what current users on Business packages think about the overal workings of it? Speed good? True about no ports being blocked?

Any thoughts are most appreciated, I am truly sick of changing isp. I was with Pipex for years but have had 3 further isp's this year and I'm fed up of moving because of changes or price increases - I mean, my current isp expects me to stomach a

Im on bt business broadband single and download a lot (100gb+ per month) and am very happy with the service. I dont know why they are asking you to prove you have a business unless that is a new thing. You must make sure you tell them you are a home user and just want unlimited downloads to avoid being charged.

I would call them up again and explain to them other people you know have got bt business broadband without providing this kind of info so whats going on.

I guess they are pretty upset that home users are switching from the home user products to the business products to get a better usage.
Maybe they would rather you went elsewhere than dared to use too much bandwidth?
Perhaps they should provide a suitable product?

I changed over from bt total broadband option 3 because in my first month i went over the 40gb.

I have already did over 400gb on the business single package, as it says unlimited im going to download as much as i can and want.

So if it is truly unlimited which i think it is as bt have not said anyhting to me about my usage yet then its def worth going to it!!

I've have business broadband for the past 4 years, for business purposes I hasten to add. Although my broadband is on my domestic phone line (it as the only on ewhich passed the tests) I have 2 business lines as well. It may be that BT are asking you to confirm your business status as you don't have a business line with them.

Also, with the recent changes in T & C for business broadband, the unlimited download element is no longer the case. Business broadband is now subject to a 'fair usage' policy which may well mean that if you download high levels consistently that BT will bill you. Better check on this yourself.

Apart from that I have no complaints. Good stable line, albeit at 512 as I'm too far from my exchange for anything higher, consistently solid download speeds at or near the max for my service. Customer support is a bit iffy but I've rarely had to use it other than 3 years ago and this week when I needed to get a cease and resume to re-establish my access due to consistent 691 errors.

Hope this helps.
