connection speeds

hello just switched from aol to bt.Got activated today and was wondering about the speeds i should be getting, i was told to expect 8 meg but at the moment getting 2.5.I know it takes 10 days to get the sync right but was just wondering if the 2.5 was normal at activation and will it improve. Any advice would be brilliant.

Don't you mean up to 8MB? That's the product you have been sold after all, also you need to wait for what is called your BRAS profile to adjust to your new line speed which will take 4 days. This is a standard formality by BT Wholesale.
