Drop in SPEED - Advice Need as India were pants.

[link to this post]

Hi

I'm on ADSL max and used to get speeds around 4 meg...it's suddenly dropped to just under 1 over the past couple of days...so I called BT who did a line test and they say all is fine. I use a Belkin router and it's been working fine..I've restarted etc...and posted my stats below if that helps. BT have told me to connect my DSL router to the MAIN BT line to check...I have a splitter that BT installed in my spare room and when I try to use a spare splitter to check the main line - my router won't recognise the broadband..therefore I cant check it. Anything I'm doing wrong here or any suggestions?

They've fobbed me off to BT to get someone to maybe come out and look at my connections...I'm not convinced as it's been working perfectly for ages.

Thanks

go to api.home or your router login page and it should be on the front. It is there at least for the home hub anyway.

Ahhh, Ahhh Its a BRAS profile problem. Wait a few days and see if it clears up, nothing can be done at this precise moment in time. If it has not sorted itself out do a BT speedtest @ http://speedtester.bt.com and post your results. By say Boxing Day.

DId you get this figure using the Thinkbroadband tester, as I used it earlier, and it recorded similar results to yours. The tester was giving the wrong figures.

Try tests on another site eg:-

http://www.speedtest.net/

or http://217.35.209.142/
