Homehub and PCI card

Hi,

We are getting the Homehub delivered on Friday this week, so over the weekend I thought I'd be all well prepared and bought a Belkin Wireless G+ PCI card to go in our desktop PC.

Trouble is, I've fitted it in the machine, but because of how it has to fit in, the aerial on the card can only stick straight out of the back or face down! I can see no way of modifying it to swivel up.

I know this is a bit of a silly question, but should this affect the reception at all?? The computer is about 15feet away from where the hub will be, up some stairs.

Should not be an issue.

However is hard wiring the HUB not an option, better speeds etc.

Unless you have good reasons to keep your HUB in another room I would hard wire it up.

You could even option to either move the phone socket or run a Cat5 cable for 15ft.

I'm really surprised that the card's antenna can't swivel. I'm trying (and failing) to think of a circumstance like yours. In fact I am sure that your antenna can swivel upright no matter how you have installed it.

Yes, it is bizarre, I agree! It can swivel through a 180 degree arc, but the arc is on the bottom half of the circle, if you know what I mean!

Loosen the connector and then swivel it round before retightening.

There should be no reason why it will not point anywhere in a complete hemisphere.
