BTBroadband Business super slow

[link to this post]

Im on 8meg unlimited business.

The last week or so my broadband has acting very odd, peaks of insane lag in games, and very slow surfing, on monday evening my downloads could still run as high as 700kps, i didnt try again untill today when i was having issues even browsing. Trying a couple of speed tests i got:

Using the speedtest on think broadband i get :

Speed Down 237.37 Kbps ( 0.2 Mbps )
Speed Up 371.54 Kbps ( 0.4 Mbps )

Using http://www.speedtester.bt.com/ i get:

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 250 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 222 kbps

The slowness is on all pcs on the network, and ive tried 3 different routers.

Any ideas on how to progress? i guess its more calling bt tommorow.

Edd

You IP profile is a 250k and should be around 7150 with that sync speed. This must have dropped due to low sync events. It should automatically update itself within 3 days. Run the same test each day and see what the results are.

[EDIT] Typo

What was likely to have caused this?

HI, I have no idea what caused mine, but I had exactly the same problem a week or so ago. All of a sudden I noticed that speeds dropped through the floor, after being stable at 8128 since day 1. I knew about the 72 hr wait so didn't even bother phoning BT. After 72 hrs (give or take) everything just returned to normal, as though the low sync event had never happened.

I would sit tight and do a speed test everyday, and if your IP profile hasn't returned to normal after 3 days, then give BT a ring and mention stuck profile.
