What happens when you go over your allowance - do you get a reduced service?

From previous posts, it looks like you get invited to pay 30p per gig or upgrade to option 3. I can't remember anyone saying they get a reduced service.

Nope. BT will send you a note pointing it out. If you do it a lot then they will invite you to move to a higher plan.

No, you have to pay per gig you are over if you're a constant user.
I'm on Option4 the highest available and also no longer available to new customers with a hard 50GB limit for

Yes but if you are on option one and for 3 months consecutivly you download 10gb they will ask you go upgrade to option 3 not pay 30p per gig.

I don't want to be tied to yet another 12month contract with BT, especially since I've been with them since the BTOpenworld Anytime Dial up days.
When my 12Month contract for "Max" is up (end of may) I'll be jumping ship, still to decide whether or not to go for a cable install or wait till Be* unbundle my exchange in July'07.

Here's the question, if Option 3 is unlimited -- why does the flashy new BT Broadband site say its 10,20,40gb limits? :P

So you only pay for what you use, BT Total Broadband Options 1, 2 and 3 include a monthly usage limit. If you go over your limit, you can still use your broadband

This subject has been covered many many times before. Their are so many different websites and tables to be updated it would take such a long time to do it all. It's not as if you can say it has been mis sold to you as when you go further through I expect it will be up to date.

well thing is, this wireless.bt.com is ment to be the main site for BT Total BB, and its a brand new site so its not a matter of updating, its a matter of it being done wrong in the first place.

Nope the main website for BT Total Broadband you will find is www.bt.com/broadband
