New Post - Same Issue - Please assist

HI all.

Right here is where I am-

Got BT option 2 - 'up to 8meg max'
Only ever got 800- 1000Kbps downloads speeds since September until it dropped at beginning of this week to 400Kb
Called Bt - No help at all (or same help as every call)
Connected direct to BT test socket / 1 pc / disconnected netwotk / good filter / nothing else connected etc etc
3.1 Miles from exchange

You guys assisted and I got stats of -
Router downstream line rate of - 2336Kbps
Noise down - 15.3dB
Attenuation of - 59dB

We assumed that a sync problem put my I.P profile down to 500K hense the recent lower speeds?
After advise from you guys I got my routers Line rate up from 1200Kbps to 2336Kbps (nice)
I understand that after 3 days BT will automatically regrade my profile to suit?

Now this is where I get worried??? -
As of 6pm tonight my I.P profile has changed from 500Kb to -

IP profile for your line is - 1000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 2336 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 838 kbps

BUT for the last 3 days I have had a CONSTANT downstream line rate of 2336Kbps, BT state I am fully capable of receiving 2Meg, But I now have a Ip profile of 1000Kb achieving 960Kb on tests?

So i'm back to where I started???

Questions -
How come after 3 days of constant 2336Kbps I only have a new profile of 1000Kbps?
Is it possible it is stuck?
Can / does BT have the option to check and reset this?
Do I have to sit and wait even longer?
What other factors can affect / cause this?
Has ANY1 got any advise PLS

Can any one help?? as not only am I frustrated, im now getting confused?? hehe

Cheers guys
Scott

RandamJoiner?? help!! lol

Just had a call back from BT and they have told me they have found the problem which is the Interleaving? thay say thay are turning it off on monday which should resolve my issues and my speed should be 2meg???

Now dont get me wrong!! but i'm kinda trusting you guys more than BT at the moment...

Based on the previous post should I tell BT to chill out with turning it off and wait and see if I get 2 meg over next few days??? what difference will it make????? GOD ive worked in I.T for 8 years and currently a contracted helpdesk team leader for CSC but all this new info im learning is worse than work,, haha? interleaving????/

Will this work??
Should I say no and wait?
Jointer ???? please assist

Interleaving is an error correction type thing.

My thinking is that your internal wiring has picked up interference and the automatic line management has thrown everything it has in it's arsenal at it. Lowering speeds and applying interleaving.

So with luck it won't do any harm turning it off and will lower pings and probably increase synch speed too.

Time will tell.
