Are BT 'spam' checking my out going email?...

[link to this post]

BT I feel are now filtering my email, as I have been trying to send a email to a friend and it simply would not get through.

I read somewhere that BT have a spam system - but does it apply to non BT email too? If it does exist - can it be turned off?

I initially blamed my own servers 'Spam Assasin' settings, so I turned them all off. I did like wise at my friends end too - along with ensuring our email apps were not binning the email either.

I am not using any email services that belong to BT - I use my own personal SMTP and POP3 setup.

In the email I used the link "http://www.franke.co.uk/prods2.asp?prodid=33&pid=2&nSiteLoc=sinks&nSiteLoc2=taps&nSiteLoc3=specialist"

If I remove this link, the email gets through - any ideas?

Regards,

MacLemming

I had the same thing yesterday, link being removed from outgoing email. It was not BT. I turned off checking of OUTGOING in my virus checker(Kaspersky) and the next email I sent went OK. Tried adding your link to am email to my second email address and that went OK as ell.

Don't think it is BT. Certainly not in my case.

Where are you trying to send this too? It could be the other ISP or companies mail servers rejecting your mail due to the link.

We are both on BT - I can remote desktop into his machine to clearly see what's happening his end.

We are both on email/web space setup by myself via a USA company called imhosted.com

I have turned off 'spam assassin' filters on the server space I have for both my friend and I.

Hmmmm.

Thanks.

Odd BT cannot do anything as its not routing via their servers.
