Fanboys are attributed with a sycophantic devotion to the creators and principles behind a work with which they are currently enthralled. Fanboys are noted for a very emotional attachment to their chosen subject, often taking negative remarks about it as a personal attack. They will readily engage in debates, but will fall back on emotional responses when challenged on facts. For example, a fanboy may go out of his way to point out negative and often untrue statements about their obsession's rivals. Fanboys are often hostile towards critical review of their chosen subject

Why do you people have to be so abusive. I was not bought out I chose to accept a negotiated offer. If they fall down on there service to me, I will take it high and get some action. As I have done before.

I totally agree with your post for the most part, however there is a new link now in operation between Leeds and London which has improved things to no end.

Network diagram here :- http://www.zen.co.uk/about.aspx?page=43

News Item :- http://www.zen.co.uk/about.aspx?page=10315

I'll shut up about Zen now and let or rather try to see this go back to the original topic..

Well thats good of you to edit my posts and give people another viewing.

Fanboys, what are you on? You obviously have a major problem. I should seek help. You have achieved nothing by being so insulting.

I have been insulted by far more intelligent people than you.
Thanks for the publicity for BT I'll let everybody else make there minds up. Ther are lots of other people happy to use them

Fanboy, American expression not in the Oxford English Dictionary. Very clever!

I am not fan of Bt. I use them because the complete package suits my needs, in spite of previous problems ,at a reasonable cost.

The mistake I made is responding to people like you.

Why? it was just getting interesting

I've noticed a large amount of posts from ex-BT punters promoting Zen yet failing to mention the potential huge costs to high bandwidth users or the poor pings for those living in the South. For a punter living in Brighton, going to Leeds or Manchester on route to London will hit gaming pings

When i was silly enough to join a dodgy reseller that was pimping the forums for business, my ping time to my gameserver was 50ms instead of BT's 10, simply because i was going to Manchester and back.

Now we hear of a Zen customer suffering poor speeds and Zen's premium support being unable to action a fix. Despite the punter paying a whopping

I'm not a gamer so being selfish, I don't care!

Seriously though, there is a thread in our subboard about pings to game servers and the biggest issue at the moment is peering through 'Telewest / ntl / virgin' servers. The majority of the pings listed by users are in the 40ms range which is IMO perfectly reasonable for an enjoyable game of a fast first person shooter.

Obviously if you want proper 'competition' speeds then of course anything lower than 40ms would be more desirable..
