MAC Question

[link to this post]

Just a quickie, obtained my mac code from BT today after a struggle and am moving to sky.My question is when will BT "cut me off" ?,is it when the sky line becomes active ?

The women I spoke to at BT said that if I cancelled it would be within 5 working days so am I right in assuming that if you dont tell them you are cancelling it is done when your sky line is implemented.I did not tell them I was cancelling and just rang up sky and gave them my MAC Code.

Is this right ?

Cancelling and obtaining a MAC are 2 seperate things. Getting a MAC should not mean your connection is cancelled, not least because you may not use it.
The loosing ISP wont know that you have left until they are informed (by Openreach) after the migration has completed. Until that time they should keep your connection in service. I think ceasing a connection prior to a migration completing is againt the OFCOM code of conduct or some such.
