Wi-Fi Minutes - BT Broadband Option 3

Hi All

I have recently signed up for BT Broadband Option 3 and was wondering how to opt-in for the free wireless minutes that are included as part of the package.

Are you forced to sign-up for the BT Fon network or can I just sign up to use my free minutes in some other way which does not require me to share my Internet connection with other users?

BT should send you an e-mail on how to redeem them its quite easy to do it.

BT FON is something separate its not linked to the free Wi-Fi minutes. Although if you sign up to BT FON you get unlimited access to BT Openzone hotspots instead of using your minutes which can be used at other hotspots e.g. The Cloud, T-Mobile etc.

I THINK they may have changed this now! Users who got BT Broadband after Nov 2007 can ONLY get free wireless via Fon by signing up to Fon. When you do you ALSO get 500mins/month free on BT OZ networks but NOT Cloud, T-Mobile, etc!

Yes Scargill that is correct. As a long time user option 4/3 Im hoping when my OZ voucher expires they will send another that will still work on BT OZ partners such as Cloud, as thats what I signed up to.

They will give you another if you re-contract with them for another 12 or 18 months.

Just found this link and remembered this post - does this imply openzone is 'back in play'?
