How is the BT Vision box wired into the broadband? If you plug a computer in at the same point rather than the BT Vision what are speedtest results like (on ours do both port 80 and 8095)

The BT Vision box is wired to the Homehub via an Ethernet cable.

I have seen this problem coming up more and more recently, it will be something BT need to address. It appears to be a problem at the server end.

I have had this problem since I first got BT Vision (about 7-8 months ago). The problem has reduced in severity (i.e. it started out that I could only watch a few seconds of VoD before it failed, now I can watch a whole 10-15 minutes... albeit with glitches) but the problem is still present.

I have spent hours (literally and on multiple occaisions) on the phone with BT - calls that I was then charged for. Last time round, the call with BT concluded with the BT guys saying "Yes, the problem seems to be a known issue here" and that someone would be in touch when it was fixed. A few weeks later they left a message on my answerphone sayiong it was all sorted - the problem is unchanged and I am fed up with being repeatedly charged for BT's inability to solve the problem.

For the avoidance of doubt, speed is not an issue and BT have repeatedly said that my connection is suitable for BT Vision.

Looking at the BT Beta forums, the problem is not that unusual - but I think that it might be hard to fix, specifically I suspect there might not be a silver bullet solution. Certainly I have not yet seen anything where there is a concensus the "This fixes the problem".

Given the repeated interruptions to BT's e-mail service, the recent 'upgrade' of said e-mail service and the woes of BT Vision (not to mention the poor content), I am now patiently waiting for my contract to expire when I will cheerfully, gleefully sack BT as my provider. Until then, all I can do is hold myself up as a warning for others - make the wrong choices and you could end up like me!

Give them a call now the helpdesk is free, they have a 24 point checklist to go through to solve these issues.

One thing to look for is to look in your home hub and see how many FEC errors are occurring, I have the same problem at times with the stuttering and it turns out my line turned bad at the start of February and when it stutters FEC errors rack up very, very quickly.

I think Paul is right, but there are other problems around. Ive had Vision for a long time ( beta test?, eh I didnt say that) and have had very few problems, last time I used it I spent several hours with jitters and a constantly resetting hub, there are zero issues on my near perfect line.

Yeah with it being delivered via ADSL its not as reliable as satellite or DVB-T. One you will be able to relate to marko would be one day your able to speak to somebody in Italy via your radio and the next you cant. All thanks to the what is now poor copper system we have in the UK, thanks Ofcom

I've had problems with BT Vision for the last four weeks.

I constantly get VOD interrupted at random points with a V04 error. (This has only happened since I changed the packs I subscribe to.) The only way to be able to watch another VOD is to reboot the BT Vision box. I have gone through the usual tests with the 'resolution team / TMC' at BT but I am still in the same position. The only reason for me having BT Broadband is the fact that I have to have it, in order to have BT Vision! I am at the point now where I want to get rid of the lot! I have even spoken to the chairmans office this morning to vent my frustration. Somebody is going to call me back within 48hrs to discuss my issues. Can't wait.

Strange sounds like its a server issue, possibly even to do with your "profile". Hopefully the chairmans office should get you sorted out.
