Not all online Games able to connect?! Firewall

[link to this post]

I'm unable to play C&C Generals online with the Homehub.

I tried forwarding Ports, even disabling the Firewall completely

Or set the PC as the DMZ Host.

No Luck.

If I connect my old Belkin router it works fine.

Other Games work,

TF2 first looses connection after joining a server but then when I reconnect it works.

any ideas ?

Using the HH with Software version: 6.2.6.E

Update it to 6.2.6.h - one of my recent posts has a link to the web-based update scheduler.

Once you've done that, rest the thing to defualts and try again - I've never had a problem getting forwarding to work, although the interface is on the obtuse side!

6.2.2.E I believe had issues with port forwarding. This has been fixed in the more recent updates.

Make sure it's back at std. settings, in case the attempts to date have screwed somthing up, then try http://portforward.com/ for help.

I followed their guides when setting mine up and it worked just fine.

If you've

upgraded,
reset to factory settings (not the same as a reboot or removing the rules you created)
followed the steps at portforward.com

there's not really anythiing else that can be done to help remotely.

Hello,

I game online through the Home Hub, and I have the same firmware version as you.
I've read through your post, and you've done everything right like shutting off the firewall ( stupid port screen seems to be a placibo as it doesnt do anything ). and assigning the real web IP address to your PC.

You missed the last step !

Once you've done both of those, you have to restart your gaming computer to release the internal IP address, and then the homehub will complete assigning you the real world IP address. Now you can host games online through the homehub.

Once you've restarted your pc, check your IP address by openning command prompt from the accessories menu, and type ipconfig and press enter. Hopefully if you have done it right, your ip address will start something like 86.??.??.??.

Only drawback is, the homehubs screwy, and thinks your pc is now the IP phone and none of the other pc's on the network can see you or file share.
