Home hub blues

[link to this post]

Right problem started on Sunday with me losing connection between 4 and 6pm,and then after these times all ok.Got fed up by Wednesday so rang BB help, and went through all the usual Mumbai claptrap. After about a hour they decided problem could be with line,so arranged for Bt engineer to call round.Today Bt man arrived at 8.30 prompt, and left just as prompt at 8.40 saying line good, must be problem with Home Hub.Rang call centre to tell them this, and they said Bt broadband engineer would call later today to check this out.At 10.30am he turns up gets it working, but advises me to get new hub, as usb and 1 ethenet connection not working.Rang back to call centre who transferred my call to Bt vision helpdesk, who duly ordered me new hub, expect in next 48 hours. Now 2 things, the first being, once again can,t use hub to connect to internet, but strangely writing this on pc upstairs via wireless adapter, netgear w111,so can someone please explain whats happening here.Secondly getting Homehub version 1.5,is there any chance of them sending the new good looking black one,or am i hoping too much.Hope i have explained things clearly, but got new puppy and being up all night with frazzles your brains.

BT will have already sent you the replacement home hub, as for getting a new one unless you specifically request it, it could be a couple of months before they are the standard hub being sent out.

As for connecting OK via wireless, the wireless is connected separately inside the Hub, the Ethernet and USB are connected in the same way.

The Hub 1.5 is a hub 1.0 with as was one described to me by somebody at BT "5% different". It is slightly better. My current one doesn't drop connection, reset or have any issues with the hub phone. Your current hub phone will work OK with hub 1.5 but their are some issues with Hub phones 1010 and 1020 and Hub 2.0, they work as basic phones and thats it, no transferring and such.
