How to get a free Hub 2.0?

[link to this post]

Currently on an 18 month contract wit BT Option 2 with the 1.5 hub.

Any ideas where I can ring BT and try to get a free upgrade to the new hub?
Do i need a story, current hub problems or as a loyal BT user etc?
Thanks for any advice.

How long do you have left on your contract?

If you report problems with your hub they will more likely send you some left over stock v1.5

Personaly though i would leave it a while as it seems in my opinion that some people are not having much luck with v2.0.

If you regrade to option 3 or renew your contract you should be able to do so.

0800 328 2152 will be able to advise.

If you don't want to regrade, Hub is 45 and Phone is 35.

mine arrived yesterday. Its great btw. had the 1.5 b4
convenient thunderstorm knocked the old hub and phone out. rang india no luck, rang 0800 111 4567 they tryed to fob me off with a 1.5 so I asked to speak to a manager, they passed me on to a tech dept who promptly sent me a 2.0hub and 2.1phone. the hub was genuinely b0rked if I plugged hub in it would knock out my landline and vice versa. told them I'd had probs with wireless range and hub sync problems. they may ask you to recontract, they didn't with me tho

take care

To be honest is there really any advantage in getting the new hub?

My hub is working fine, the signal from the wireless is not as good as my old Speedtouch 585, but it does the job. I can still take the laptop over to my next door neighbours if need be and still get a signal. Better than my my brothers, he still have problems, in fact I just thought of an idea, they have two home hubs, I can use one as a repeater

Do the unreliable ones have batch numbers that you know. Had mine a week now and it has been rock solid

Don't know really, BT have set a department up to deal with the faults but it was the same with the other hubs, several people had a few hubs before they got a good one that worked
