BT Throttling my line why?

[link to this post]

I had my line activated a couple of days ago. One of the first things I noticed was slow download speeds.

After going on speedtester.bt.com I see that my connection is limited to 2000k. It says my IP profile is 2000k. The thing is i'm synced at 7616k so why am I stuck at 2000k.
The email off bt said it takes an hour for line to reach maximum speed but nothing happened. the speed seems to be stuck.
My previous ISP(Bulldog) gave me speeds of over 6000k so my line can handle it.

My line stats;

ADSL line status
Connection information
Line state Connected
Connection time 0 days, 1:38:48
Downstream 7,616 Kbps
Upstream 448 Kbps

ADSL settings
VPI/VCI 0/38
Type PPPoA
Modulation ITU-T G.992.1
Latency type Interleave
Noise margin (Down/Up) 12.8 dB / 24.0 dB
Line attenuation (Down/Up) 33.0 dB / 21.0 dB
Output power (Down/Up) 19.7 dBm / 11.9 dBm

If you maintain a good sync speed over the next few days, the profile should automatically rise.

ok thanks. hopefully it will improve.
My sync speed is always the same. Do I need to keep router plugged in 24 hours a day?

Could take 10 days mate but as said above you profile will change when your connection is confirmed as stable.

They do get stuck occasionally though so if it still hasn't gone up after 10 days get on to support. That could be fun.

Steve

I've got a feeling i'm going to have to phone support.
I've been searching google and noticed that profiles stuck at 2000k is quite common. I'm not looking forward to calling tech support. The operators will probably just be reading from a script and tell me [censored] that my line can't support more than 2000k even though I know for certain it can.

I had a stuck profile for 21 weeks back when max'd first came out

Nowadays you have to wait upto 5 days for profile to adjust
The smaller the drop the longer you wait for it to change back

If you are stuck at 2000kbps and dont see ought over it at all then call tech - profiles should adjust in 3 to 5 days automatically (if you hold a stable line that long)

It's gone 3 days and i'm still on 2000k.
Hopefully it will raise soon otherwise i'm just going to have to wait the 10 days then go through the nightmare of calling tech support
