Question about Upgrade and Home Hub

[link to this post]

Ive just upgraded to home hub from old option 4. Its been activated today so Ive plugged in my shiny new hub, I have steady blue lights but I cant connect to the net with it. The connections working as Im on my old green frog at the moment. Im trying to connect via the ethernet but all I get is an 'acquiring network settings' message. Ive phoned BT to try and solve it and was told by the nice Indian man that as today is the activation date I should wait til tomorrow and it will work fine. Is this correct or is he winding me up?

You might have a connection to the exchange but not to the www. However normaly acquiring address is a router issue as it's trying to asign you with an network IP... Do you not have anythin wireless to test?

Start by connecting via the supplied Ethernet cable.

If that works the try wireless. Can you see the HH's SSID? When you try to connect to it do you get as far as entering the WPA encryption key? (On the card that BT supplied.)

Sounds like a hub problem, do a factory reset and see if that works out. If not give BT a ring and explain the situation, would seem your hub has died.
