Slow BT speeds for days

[link to this post]

Hi all,

I've been getting seriously slow wireless speeds lately with the original BT HomeHub. Currently as I write this it's showing 2.0 - 5.5 Mbps in the bottom right corner of my Windows screen. Signal strength is shown as low as well.

I'm not aware of any outside interference like ariels or such and I've tried restarting and resetting the Hub which has made no difference.

Got some stats from the Hub if they give any clue to the problem:

DSL Connection

Link Information

Uptime: 0 days, 21:14:50
Modulation: G.992.1 annex A
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 288 / 576
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/MB]: 16.63 / 65.78
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 11.5 / 11.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 17.0 / 33.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 28.0 / 30.5

Software version: 6.2.6.H

I'll try and post a speedtest result soon.

Thanks in advance for any help.

How do you know your wireless speeds are actually low? You are saying it indicates 2Mbps (or more) but you are on a fixed 512kbps service, so you will never see anything faster than that unless you are using a LAN and transferring data between PCs.
