Problematic Connection

[link to this post]

Any ideas? Works but throughput is limited to about 60kB/sec and cuts out now and again. FEC errors obviously an issue .

I've tried restarting it numerous times but it won't resync at a lower rate.

Is it the IP Profile limiting your speed? Visit http://www.speedtester.bt.com to find out

Have you tried the modem in the test socket of the BT Master socket, this has the effect of unplugging all your extensions, if that fixes errors consider

I've attempted to use the BT Speedtester across various times, but it continually says it's busy.

I don't understand the point of DSLMax if it's unable to work reliably and effectively. Why can't the system drop the sync to around 4mbits where it'd probably work ok? And better yet switch off interleaving.

If you start to see more than 10 syncs an hour it will start to slow you down to introduce stability, but with some modem/DSLAM combos this does not seem to occur.

If you are getting errors you actually want interleaving ON, it reduces the problems caused by the errors.

Rate adaptive ADSL is there to get the most out of the line, but finding the balance between stable and unstable is difficult, and the wiring in your home can have a significant effect.

Well finally it resynced at a lower rate and is working normally as expected. Even though there are still FEC errors, but those aren't as damaging as CRC errors.
