21CN WBC status Greenwich Exchange

[link to this post]

The stats below are from Sam Knows who believe it or not were recommended by a BT employee.

21CN WBC status: Enabled as of 15/02/2009
21CN PSTN switchover target: Q1 2009

However given the information below I checked the BT speeds offered and at one time it talked about a higher speed of 6.5m compared to the 4.5m I get now (now only 4.5m offered)

Now BT are chasing me to renew my contract (a few times now) and when asked when the higher speed would be made available silence was the answer.

How do I find out when the new speed will be offered to existing customers?

AFAIK BT haven't set a firm date for ADSL2+ products tho trials are ongoing... at some point BT should notify you that your connection is being switched to WBC (even tho the exchange is done your line is probably still on the old connect) - at which point you should see an increase in upload speed (it will sync as high as possible) and you can then get ADSL2+ products from other ISPs tho as thats mostly Enta resellers I really couldn't reccomend that.

Maybe he was subtly suggesting you should look at an O2 ADSL2+ package.

There really is no comparison except this one.

Bob: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Standard.

BT Retail as yet have not launched an ADSL2+ product, as far as i know it will not cost more, however if you head on over to http://www.broadband.bt.com/superfastbroadband/?s_in... register your interest there and they will inform you when you can get your adls2+ bb
