BT Vision after Broadband cancellation?

[link to this post]

Looking to migrate over to O2 (LLU on my exchange) next week. Can I salvage BT vision or is it a dead service after I move away from BT broadband?

Any mac issues with O2 stuff that anyone knows of?

Cheers

There are no MAC issues going to O2, but make sure you sign up through TopCashBack or Quidco on Monday at the latest. £75-£125 cash back! (Clear cookies immediately before going into the cashback site to order). If you haven't got the MAC you can supply it later.

See the figures in this post.

OOPs!

I'm not aware of any problems there either, but the place to ask is in the O2 forum not the BT one tongue smile.

I never used Quidco before I joined O2 either. Basically all it does is transfer you into the O2 ordering system but with an attached code that shows you came from them. That's why you have to clear cookies immediately before, so there is no chance of the O2 system picking up cookies on your machine meaning you didn't really get referred by Quidco.

Quidco take the first £5 of your first cashback each year as an annual subscription. TopCahBack don't, but I have never used them.

BT vision will be a doorstop, if you are going to O2 are you going to be LLU? If not then you may have problems. O2 are having loads of problems on their BT based system.
A work mate who is on 02 have been having speeds as low as half a megabit, sometimes even lower and yet his sync speed is around the 6-7Megabits.

He have now decided to go with vivaciti and their Cable and wireless LLU service.

Myself I am looking at Orange, I have no idea why because I expect the customer service will be naff, but it will be a lot cheaper than Bt.

Not much different then and yet half the price. I not fond of Orange, I think their customer service stinks as much as BT, but it is half the price of what I am paying now.

I have got to the stage a while back where I wonder if paying nearly £500 a year for phone and broadband is really worth it. Orange is half the price.

Paying £250 for lousy broadband is just as stupid as paying £500, as you well know.

You also know the solution. There are plenty of good ISPs out there for £500 per year.

I reckon you really are a masochist and just could not live with nothing to moan about tongue.
