I recently posted this question at the end of another thread but got no feedback so am posting here to see if anyone can answer please.
I have been having an intermittent problem with broadband dropping when the phone rings the router and a standard phone are plugged into the test socket correctly filtered etc . When the phone rings I have noticed that my Up noise margin goes from a steady 8.8 to a fluctuating lower figure, it has gone as low as 2,2 and has held sync if any lower then it disconnects. The Down margin stays roughly the same.
If I understand it correctly the frequency on ADSL2+ (G.992.5) is different to ADSL2 (G.992.3) and the Up ADSL signal (frequency) is nearest to the voice signal. could this be what is causing the intermittent fault, as when BT Reach come and do a line test here they say it checks out OK. It is fine until the phone rings, I have previously told them that this fault appearing does seem to coincide with my service (exchange upgrade) being moved to ADSL2+. from up to 8meg. For my own understanding I would like to know if the above makes any sense.
