Are BT trying to fob me off ?

[link to this post]

For the last 4 days our connection has gone mega slow. Usual download rates of 600KB/s at now 20KB/s.

This is a business line and we don't over use the line.

Now after over an hour in contact and them running various tests the conclusion is

'we recently changed your line with regard the 'signal to noise ratio' to make your line more stable. Leave it connected for 6 days and it will become much better and it will settle to its maximum stable rate'

bear in mind this line has been fine for 2+ years.

Are they fobbing me off?

I've changed router and microfilters so it must be a BT issue...

Can you post your line stats from the BT hub or whatever router you are using?

Also the full results from the BT Performance (mis-reporting) Test to see if that sheds any light.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - O2 Standard.

Don't need the tone info, but do need the connection speeds up and down.

Also is it ADSL or ADSL2+ (Mode: G.DMT/G.992.1/G.992.5)

The line should be good for 8Mbps connection on ADSL and 24Mbps on ADSL2+.

My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - O2 Standard.

from the little info you have provided it seems like you had a resynch wich took you out side of your BRAS profile and have synched back to the correct synch now unfortunatley due to BT Wholsales systems it now takes a full 5 days of stable connection to get back to your full throughput on the right profile, if you read robertos website about ip profiles you will get the idea.
