However, despite currently showing a 6meg DL connection to the exchange my IP profile has been set to 135k! This occurred over the weekend whilst the line was being worked on and since then I've been stuck at 135k with an actual test throughput of between 50-75k! Spoke to BT india on Mon, Tues & today and got standard script messages about the line having to re-sync which will take 10 days, during which time i may or may not see any improvement. I don't recall my initial sync when I joined BT being this bad, in fact if I recall correctly it started at the higher speeds and settled at a lower stable speed. Is there anything I can do locally to improve the connection? I'm approx 1km from the exchange as the crow flies and my router stats are:
Data Rate 5888DL 488UL
Noise Margin 14.9DL 24.0UL
Output power 17.8DL 12.UL
Attenuation 16.5DL 7.5UL

BTW, I've had conflicting advice about the advisability or restarting/resetting the router - any thoughts?
