BT Option 3 Up to 20Mb Maximum sync?

Hi guys,

My exchange is being switched to ADSL2+ in November so I'm very curious;

What is the highest sync speed you can achieve on BT Option 3 with 21CN kit installed in your exchange?

TBB says 20480Kbps but Kitz says sync speeds can go up to the maximum ADSL2+ speeds (Around 24574Kbps) resulting in a 21000Kbps profile.

ADSL2+ is defined up to 24 Meg but many ISPs market it as only 20 Meg to be be on the safe side. Whether they actually cap it to that is up to them.

So is Option 3 only up to a 20Mb sync?

For example; Some users on Sky can gain a 24Mb sync if they are lucky so I was wondering if this is possible on BTs equipment.

You've seen the BT adverts!

Anyway, they don't do the Options anymore; just BT BB, More BB, Unlimited BB or BT Infinity.

What about upload speeds? I am waiting to change to BT on Monday, with O2 at the moment. Just got the BT I-Plate, put it on and even before waiting my speed has gone from 2mb to 3mb My upload is 0.9mb, is BT capped at 0.5?

I've tested BT Broadband, Sky and Talktalk, Sky caps close to 20 down and 1150kbps up, BT also cap at 20 down and for up it's just over 1 meg, (I'm not 100% sure on the upload) Talktalk don't cap the down (I was getting very close to 24mbps sync) and they do cap the up at 1meg exactly. I'm getting internet from AAISP soon, I should see 2.5 up and about 19 down on a 6db snr but of course I can set that to 3db and get even more speed. (AAISP use BT's network)
